I wish I could play the guitar but I never got the hang of it.
Sushi-I think I tried it once in Mexico, maybe you could tell me your favorite kind because I would like to try it again and say I like sushi too! :)

I think the best thing I know to say and what I need to do is, just know Jesus, make it the priority. I think if you and I do that, He can lead us where he wants us. He can show us true freedom. Tyler, I know the fustration, of life and wanting to follow hard after Christ, and all I can say is I don't know everything, but I know for me is that (I've heard this a lot lately, from a story Robby told me, and from a blog I read on Kyle's xanga) is that's it not about being relavant to culuture, or doing what's popular, it's about being relavant to Jesus (Alex McManus said something about that at the conference we went to), and letting people see Jesus through us. What if our goal was that we lived life so closely to Jesus, that when people hung out with us people could say that that's the close I've seen someone be like Jesus, and not to do it so people would say that but to live a life like that (from Robby's story he told me). I wrote this more for me than you. I love you bro and I'm so glad we get to go to Uganda together.

Ty,

I can honestly say I know what you mean, because I\'ve been guilty of doing that as well. For me I think it is spiritual pride. I think what that person is saying isn\'t really happening in there lives, and how can they talk about that, or what\'s going on in my life is more important than what\'s going on in there\'s. But I find that if someone close to me tells me something that\'s going on or someone I respect I tend not to do that too. I just have to continue to ask for forgiveness when it\'s brought to may attention and that\'s what your post did for me. I also want to encourage you Tyler, I can tell that God is doing stuff in your life, that he\'s changing you and I just want to encourage you to keep letting Him have more and more freedom in your life.

Some wise thoughts. It's very important not just to listen but to listen with an open heart. Thanks for the challenge.

I don't know how vitale they are. I'm sure there are people in other countries who don't have conferences with big speakers and they could possibly know the power of God more than some people in America ever will.

I'm not excluding myself out of this group. I've gone to stuff because some speaker.

I think that a lot of people...myself included are guilty of going to conference to get a shot of christian caffeine to wake us up. It's like "well..it's time to fill up my tank." When in fact we can experience the fullness of God daily whenever we spend OUR time with Him.

Tyler,

I have a question? Why do you think Christian Culture has so many conferences, classes, things like that? Do you think they are vitale to the church, or do you think there is a better why to teach people then like weekend conferences?

Comment on MY relationship by trawker

The my relationship is now is centered around the question, "now what?" I mean..I've been playing for the youth's worship team for the past 2 years. So now what? I can't really draw a picture of it. Perhaps I'm some guy sitting on this plateau waiting for some sign of which direction. Or maybe that's where God wants me right now...what if he just wants me to wait? Has God said "no...wait wait." What if my "go" is to wait right now? I'm so used to doing something that the very idea of not doing something kinda catches me off guard.

I don't know how different my relationship looks. I've just tried to imitate what those people say and try to make their person apart of my personality. I'll take things as if they're my own in order to sound like I have a very strong relationship...and it's so I can feel good about myself and where I'm at. I want to feel like I'm at that caliber of a spiritual person. I'll hear a quote and think about how rich or deep it sounded, and I'll insert that into my vocabulary because "so and so" said it and since they're Godly...me using that will make me Godly. I'd say the only way it is different is the fact that they're being real and using whatever God has been teaching them personally...and I'm just using what God has been teaching me through them. I just know I've got to make it more of me and God. Not what God just taught me through "so and so." It needs to be more intimate...I can't just live off of whatever God is teaching them.

I think the body of Christ represents different gifts. We all have the same mission...and that is to go unto all nations, sharing the gospel, making disciples. Making the glory of God known to all nations, to all people. God gifts us in different ways, and we use those gifts to make the glory of God known. The way you serve could differ in the way I will serve.
